Smartphone/Tablet Flash & Sensor Optimization
BrightView computational optics film is designed for two key applications in mobile phone cameras: optimizing light input to the sensor and improving flash performance. When applied to the sensor, it enhances light uniformity, ensuring maximum ambient light for better image capture. For flash, the film widens and diffuses the light, increasing efficiency and eliminating harsh hotspots for more balanced lighting.
Flash
The optical film takes the light from the flash point and, using thousands of micro lenses, refracts most of the light towards wider angles reducing the hot spot from the center of the flash source. The uniform illumination from the flash will benefit photo quality and autofocus detection accuracy.
Sensor
For sensors, the optical film helps reflect the on-axis light and maximize the photons received from the ambient (wider angle) light. The uniform result increases the quality of sensor recognition and provides a better field of view.
